THQ Kicks It Old School With Nexuiz (Game Informer)
With several huge franchises like Call of Duty, Halo, and Battlefield
dominating sales, the first-person shooter is unquestionably one of the most
popular genres in Video Games. This makes it all the more questionable that
the sub-genre that basically put multiplayer on the map -- arena shooters --
are nowhere to be seen in today's gaming landscape. THQ and developer Illfonic
hope to fill this gap with Nexuiz, an under-the-radar first person shooter
that brings back the thrill of high-octane arena shootouts.
The history of Nexuiz goes back to 2002, when a small group of Quake modders
put together the concept. A decade later, a revamped version of the popular
mod is coming to consoles and PC thanks to yet another small team born out of
the Quake modding community. Developer Illfonic, a team of only 10 guys, is
resurrecting the game with the CryEngine 3, the Crytek developed game engine
made famous by Crysis 2.
Given the bunny hopping, lightning fast navigation, and boisterous arsenal
featuring death dealers like rocket launchers and mortars, Nexuiz should feel
immediately familiar to anyone who cut their teeth on games like Unreal and

Deceptively simple, this game is colorful, cheerful, but challenging all at the same time. Learning how to make the most of your time can help increase your score and allow you to reach the next level. This means being able to complete rows of three, four and even five without hesitation in order to keep that blender working.
One of the easiest strategies to use is to stay low on the board. Searching for rows to complete can take up too much time. But if you keep your eye on the bottom two rows, you will be able to spot rows that are in need of an extra pineapple or grape. As you complete these rows, the fruit from the upper rows will drop, which will unfreeze some of the fruit as well as any frozen X's.
Another strategy to use is to complete larger rows in order to earn more points and unfreeze and remove more fruit from the board. Even though this will require a keen eye and quick clicks of the mouse, your chances of excelling to the next level are increased. Remember, you will earn bonus points for remaining time you have on the clock after unfreezing all the fruit, so increasing your reaction time is important.
Even though Fruit Frenzy, like many of the games found on Uvme.com is comprised of three or more levels, getting to the top level is difficult for many. But this game is so much fun that you can easily become addicted. Developing a few simple strategies can really help enhance your enjoyment and overall score.
While playing, take note of your strengths and weaknesses.
