The holiday season is here again, and what better way to strengthen bonds with family and friends than to spend time playing a fun game that the whole group can enjoy?
Ever since the introduction of Video Game, board games have had a serious rival for our affections. There are games that allow you to get a job, make money, build a house and have children, but none of them allow you to spend time with real people, enjoying their company. What's more Video Games have been shown to be a serious detriment to the physical and mental well-being of some. Our families often live in the same homes, but lead separate lives as each enjoys their own brand of entertainment.
A game should be more than entertainment; it should enhance one's life. It should bring joy, bring back good memories, and help build new ones. It should involve the whole family. Sometimes, something as simple as the singing of a lyric from an old favorite song can bring much happiness, and this is the idea behind SPONTUNEOUS, our lyrical board game.
The game goes like this: when your turn comes, you are the "Tunesmith." Think of a song, pick a word from those lyrics, and write it down on your "Hit List." These are your "Trigger Words." Once everyone has their own Trigger Words, you, as the Tunesmith flips the 15-second timer, and announces a trigger word from your Hit List. The race is on as the other players try to be the first to sing as five-word portion of any song containing that Trigger Word. The first player to begin singing before the time expires gets to roll the dice and advance on the board. But beware! If the time runs out, you, the Tunesmith, must prove your musical knowledge by singing five words of a song containing that trigger word. Everyone gets their chance to be the Tunesmith, and it's anyone's game as you race around the board to be the first to complete the Spontuneous Challenge!
Any time can be a better time with good friends and good music. This game will give you hours of fun and bring back nostalgic memories tied to your favorite classic songs. It can be played outdoors, in the car...the possibilities are nearly endless. Young and old alike will be entertained as they are introduced to different music. Time is precious.
