Replay: Super Mario Bros. 2 (Game Informer)
If you ever read my blog that listed my top ten Mario games, you know I have
fond memories of Super Mario Bros. 2. Many gamers don't consider it a "real"
Mario Game considering that it was originally Doki Doki Panic in Japan, but I
say nuts to that. The game is better than the original, and certainly better
than the ludicrously hard Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2.
I went into this Replay confident that it would still be a ton of fun, and it
didn't disappoint. Watch below as I play the game (and end season 1 of Replay)

The "serious games" by aman ved
Four years ago, a handful of companies in Lyon Rhone-Alpes region and was working in the field of serious games. They are now twenty, creating 400 jobs in passing. During the "serious" Video Games, focusing on training and public awareness is booming. And Rhone-Alnpes which designs half of the "serious games" French is the heart of this groundswell that already weighs 1.5 billion euros at the level hex. With a record number of exhibitors and a strong business side, the Serious Game Expo that just took place in Lyon confirmed the trend.
In this Video Game world in turmoil, there is at least one market segment that does not know the crisis: serious games. It is estimated that over the next three years, this market will grow by almost 50%. Globally, it already weighs 50 billion dollars (1.5 billion euros for France). Under this name hides the video games that use the springs of fun games (graphics, humor), for purposes which widen more: health, education and training, information and communication, defense and civil security or awareness to great causes. Not very expensive: the price of a serious game is between 50 000 and 500 000 for more sophisticated.
Born a few years ago, this market of serious games that first attracted businesses, is now developing towards the communities, the general public, senior citizens. It adopts a growing number of media, besides the computer, smart-phones and other i.phones, i.Pad and shelves of all kinds.
Thirty projects of "serious games" have been presented at the Serious Game Expo, organized by the Cluster Competitiveness Imaginove just taken place at the Cit Internationale of Lyon. One example among others: to promote interest among young people for careers in plastics, the company has designed a Qovo serious game "Mission Plastechnologies" which offers young people a fun way to discover the businesses, rather neglected, the plastics.
Another example: the company Daesign (Pringy Haute-Savoie) who comes to receive the award at Deloitte Technology Fast for its rapid growth, offers on your iPhone to simulate a job interview. Beware of trick questions! The same company also created a game designed to train commercial for Renault.
These few examples illustrate the vitality of the Serious Game in the Rhone Alps. "The region of nearly half of French companies in the sector, a score of companies that are trying to expand internationally" , says Ludovic Christmas, Imaginove director. Which states: "Four years ago, we did not expect virtually no business. The sector now accounts for nearly four hundred jobs. "
All these actors are negotiating the second generation of serious games commissioned by the market, with more technology, relief, but also simplicity to move towards these new targets.
Why is the Serious Games industry likes it in the Rhone-Alpes? Born in the wake of the success of video games which have developed into an excellent ecosystem, it has managed to structure: clustered first, then cluster. The networking has paid off.
The communities are also hands-on launching and funding the project calls for "serious games and new uses." The Region has sought a partnership to create a serious game that aims to teach students to become environmentally responsible. Greater Lyon has ordered his side to society villeurbannaise "The Tanukis" and laboratory LIRIS another serious game intilut "VisTaVille" particularly original: it allows, through the technology of augmented reality, tagging (virtually) the real Lyon!
Finally, the national call for projects "serious games", launched in May 2009 saw no fewer than eight projects selected Rh'ne-Alpes. In total, a vitality that has fueled the business of thousands of visitors to the show-business that is now the Serious Game Expo. With regional real benefits.
